This Tutorial was written on October 28th, 2011 by Ashly
It is of my own creation and any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental.

Please do not copy and do not post elsewhere.
This tutorial is written as if you have a general knowledge on how to use the program.

***What you'll need***
Program of Choice.
I am using Photoshop CS5

Tube of choice.
I am using the artwork of Melissa Dawn
This is a Limited Edition Tube only available until October 31st, 2011
You can find that HERE along with all of her gorgeous work.

Kit of choice.
I am using a scrapkit called “Too cute to spook” by Kikeka Kits.
You can purchase that for use HERE

Mask of Choice
I am using Mask_6 by ChiChi Designs
You can snag that from HERE

Filters Needed
Xero – Clarity
Xero – Porcelain

~*~*~ Let's Get Started~*~*~

Open up a new canvas
600px x 600px.
Flood fill with white

Open Frame02
Copy and Paste onto your canvas and scale down to 65%
I added a bit of a bevel and an outer glow to mine as well as a drop shadow.

Open Paper09
Resize to 600px by 600px
Copy and paste onto your canvas and move this layer below your frame.
Use your magic wand and select inside of your frame
Select → Modify → Expand, by 5
Invert your selection and on the paper layer, press delete.

Open Paper07
Resize to 600px by 600px
Move this below your frame paper background and apply your mask here.

Now go to your tubes.
Select the one you would like on the outside of your frame.
I used the one titled “1”
Position and resize to your liking.

Filter → Xero → Clarity
All at Default.

Filter → Xero → Porcelain
All at default except the blue channel, slide that all the way to the left to 0.
Add a drop Shadow.

Now Go back to your tube and Copy and Paste Just the cat with wing (the one titled “4”) onto your canvas
Resize and position over the other tube so it looks like it's part of it
Once it's perfect do the same two filters as you did before.
Add an outerglow to this layer as well as a drop shadow.

Now we're going to go back to our tube and Get the kitten without the wing (layer “5”) and copy and paste it into your canvas.
Move this layer in between your frame and the paper frame background layers.
I flipped mine horizontally and then resize and reposition to your liking.
Once you have that, Ctrl + Click on your frame background paper thumbnail
Invert the selection and then on your new tube layer we've been working with press delete.
Change the blend mode to luminosity
Duplicate this layer.

On the new layer
Filter → Blur → Gaussian Blur, Radius of 5
Change the blend mode to overlay

Now we're just going to embellish a bit.
Do so to your liking and add drop shadow of choice.
Resize and position as you'd like to as well.

I used the following:

~ Between the mask and frame background layers~
String01 (no drop shadow)

~Above the frame but below the tube with the pumkins and light~
lollipop01
candy06
flower07
flower08
flower06
flower06
bow02
candy01

~Above the top tube layer~
Spider (I also added a bit of an outer glow here)
bow01
flower08

Add your name to your tag.

Image → Trim
Top left pixel color, all boxes checked.

Resize the image if you'd like to.

*****Most Important*****
Add your copyright info here!!

If you're not wanting to animate then hide the white background layer and save as a .png and you're done!

If you want to animate lets get started.

Go to your spider layer.
Duplicate it and “nudge” it 10 times. (with your move tool selected tap the up arrow key 10 times)

Duplicate this layer and nudge it 10 times, if you need to erase the bits of the string that extend above the bow and flower.

Duplicate again and nudge 10 times, erase the string.

I did this 9 times so that I have a total of 10 spider frames.

Now we're going to go to our tube image with the lightpost.
Zoom in a bit so we can see it well.
I used the polygonal lasso tool to select all the yellow parts of the post.
Ctrl+C
Ctrl+V
Duplicate the new layer.
On the original copied layer
Image → Adjustments → Black and White, just use the default settings.

Now hide all of the spider layers except the original spider you added.

Now we're going to go to our animation window.
(window → Animation)

I have my delay set to .15 seconds set to go forever.

Add a new animation layer.
Hide the original spider and unhide the first spider layer.
Go to your yellow light post pane layer and change the opacity of this one to 90%

Add a new layer in the animation window
Hide the spider you're one and unhide the next one up and change the opacity to 80%

Keep adding new layers and change the spider to the next one up and lowering the opacity by 10%
When you get to 0% you're going to start lowering your spider back down.

Once you get back to 80% your spider should be at the lowest point again so on the last animation layer only change the opacity of the flame layer to 90%

I ended with a total of 20 frames.

Press play to see your animation at work.

If you're happy with what you've done the save as a .gif and you're done!

Thank you for trying my tut!
I'd love to see any tags made from it!

If you have any questions feel free to email me!

Thanks again and Huge hugs!
Ashly

as27
add your sparkles here on the left side, I didn't add a drop shadow to mine
as03

Add a new layer, take a hard brush size 1 and on this new layer click on the top of the spiders abdomen and she click shift while the mouse is still pressed and drag your line up so that it goes up just a little ways and then release both at the same time. Now drag this layer so it's below the spider.

~Above your top tube layer~
as22
as43
as96
as70
as103
as64
add your sparkle here again but on the right side, no drop shadow on mine again

as43
as82
as90
as90
as96
as96

Add your name to your tag.

Image ---> Trim
Top left pixel color, all boxes checked

Resize if you want to

*****Most Important*****
Add your copyright info to the tag.

If you're happy with what you've done and don't want to animate hide the bottom white layer and then save as a .png and you're done.

If you want to animate lets keep going :)

~Animation~

Find your spider layer and have it selected in your layer pallate.
Go to your animation window (Window → Animation)
My delay is set at .15 seconds to repeat forever.
Add a new animation layer.
Now with your spider layer selected, click on your move tool and then nudge your image of the spider 5 times (click the up arrow 5 times)

Add a new animation layer and nudge it 5 more times

Add a new layer and nudge it the same amount again, do this until your spider has reached the peak of how high you want it to go. (I did 5 frames so nudged it 4 times)

Add two more of the peak frames and don't change them.

Then add a new layer and nudge the spider back down 5 times.

Keep doing this until it's back to it's original position.

I actually went one time past the original position.

With your lowest point add two more frames to it....if you go to your original just add one more of the last frame.

Press play to see your animation at work.

If you're happy with what you've done the save as a .gif and you're done!

Thank you for trying my tut!
I'd love to see any tags made from it!

Rissa @ Rissa's Designs Awarded me this award.
Thank you so much Rissa!

The aim of the award is to bring recognition to blogs with minimal followers.

Since I have accepted the award I must pass it on to at least 3 other blogs(but not more than 5), that have inspired me and I feel deserve a bit more attention.

The rules are to say thank you on my blog to the one who passed it on to me with a link to their blog.

Pick the blogs to pass the award on to,leave a note on their blog and then list them with links to their blogs.

I was Awarded this award by the awesome and talented
Thank you so much for this!!!

Now in turn I'm supposed to select 3 blogs that I find beautiful in every way.
I completely agree this is a hard choice just because it could be so many.

1. Art of Giving - it's such a great cause and so many ways to contribute.

2. Gina of Kikeka Kits - She's the sweetest lady, always positive and her kits never cease to inspire.

3. Shayuri Designs - She's got an awesome blog and is an amazing forum owner

It is of my own creation and any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental.

Please do not copy and do not post elsewhere.
This tutorial is written as if you have a general knowledge on how to use the program.

Program of Choice.
I am using Photoshop CS5

Tube of choice.
I am using the artwork of VeryMany

Kit of choice.
I am using a kit called “Gothic Touch” by Mythical Desings

Along with all her other amazing work!

Filters Needed
Xero – Porcelain
Xero - Radiance

~*~*~ Let's Get Started~*~*~

Open up a new canvas
600px x 600px.
Flood fill with white

Open up Frame1
Scaled down to 65%
Duplicate it twice so there are 3 frames.
Leave the top one alone
on the second one rotate it -25 degrees.
Now using your move tool (V)
Nudge the image to the left.
To do this just tap your left mouse button.
I did it 55 times.

On the bottom frame rotate it 25 degrees
And then nudge it to the right the same amount of times as you did the other.

Open paper1
Resize to 600px by 600px
copy and past onto your canvas.
Move below your frames.
Use your magic wand and select inside each of the three frames
Select ---> Modify ---> Expand, by 5
Invert your selection and on the paper layer invert and press delete.

Now go to your closeup of your tube and copy and paste it into your canvas.
Have this between your frames and your paper background for them.
Move it to the position you'd like.
Once you're hapy with the size and position erase any extra pieces that are outside the frame.
Duplicate this layer.
On the bottom one change the blend mode to luminosity, opacity at 75%
On the top one go to Filter ---> Blur ---> Gaussian Blur, raidus of 5.
Then change the blend mode to overlay, opacity at 20%.

Now hide all but the frame layers except the straight up and down one.
Copy and paste the more full body tube layer to your canvas.
Resize and position to your liking and then duplicate this layer.
Drag one below all of your frame.
Erase any parts that are outside of them and add a drop shadow.
To the top tube layer, erase any parts that are over the top of the frames that you don't want to be.

Then go
Filter ---> Xero ---> Porcelain
All at default except the blue channel, have it all the way to 0

Filter ---> Xero ---> Radiance
Do something subtle here that just brightens the tube back up.

Filter ---> Sharpen ---> Unsharp Mask
All at default settings.

Now bring all your frame layers back visible.
Merge the three together and add a drop shadow.

Open paper12
Resize to 600px by 600px.
Copy and paste into your canvas and drag this layer to just above the white background
apply the mask to this layer.

Now we're just going to embellish the tag to our liking.
I did so with the following.

I added a dropshadow and resized to how I wanted them.

In this order.

~Below the frames but above the frame backgrounds~
Element12 (I erased just a bit on the end of this one)
Element 11 (this is rotated)
Element 11 (I duplicated the previous one and flipped it horizontally)

~Above the frames below the top witch tube layer~
Element34
Element 39
Element 37
Element31
Element7
Element29
Element 28

Add your name to your tag.

Image ---> Trim
Top left pixel color, all boxes checked.

Resize if you'd like to

*~*~*~*~Most Important!!!*~*~*~*~
Add your copyright info to your tag here.

If you're happy with your tag hide the white background layer and save as a .png to keep the transparency.

That's it!
You're done!!
I'd love to see any results from tags made with my tutorials so, please send them in!!
If you have any questions you're more than welcome to message me and I'll help out too!!
